What is OFF THE MAP: PRIMAL ISLAND?
A survival horror series told in short episodes. The story unfolds on an island wiped off every map, where dinosaurs and survival collide, and the mystery behind the island runs deeper than anyone imagines. An original CoraLaw Production.
Where can I watch it?
Free on YouTube. New episodes land weekly, aside from the occasional break for production, and usually drop on Thursdays.
How many episodes are there, and how often do they come out?
Roughly one episode a week, aside from the occasional production break. There is no fixed episode count yet: the season is in full production and will keep going over the coming weeks. Follow OFF THE MAP: PRIMAL ISLAND on social or check back here to stay in the loop.
Is the series made with artificial intelligence?
Yes, and we are upfront about it. The images and video start with AI, but they never stop there. Every shot goes through human hands: editing, color grading, and fine-tuning every detail. AI handles the first pass, then real people take the footage and shape it, rework it, cut it, re-edit it, and sometimes dub it.
So is it “made by a computer”?
No. The story, characters, staging, and editing are all driven by human creators. AI speeds up the visual production, but the thinking, the consistency, and the direction stay human.
Why use AI instead of traditional techniques?
It lets a small independent team pull off scenes with dinosaurs, environments, and action that would normally demand a major studio budget. More than that, it gives us creative freedom: the ability to tell the story we want, with no compromises and without the cost ceiling of traditional CGI.
Are the actors real, or AI-generated?
The cast is part AI-generated and part real people who take part in the series, lending their likeness and voice. In some cases scenes are genuinely performed and then woven into the series: actors acting or doing motion capture, feeding the AI real movement to build on. The human involvement here is enormous.
Are the dinosaurs scientifically accurate?
Their design starts from solid scientific research, including the latest discoveries. Every dinosaur that makes it on screen is a choice backed by constant reference to scientific material. Now and then we take small creative liberties to make their presence work on screen.
Are the species real or invented?
Nothing is invented; it is all grounded in science. The few liberties we take are around appearance or color, and those stay purely creative choices.
Can I take part in the series?
